Introduction: A New Dawn in Enterprise AI
We are witnessing the first lights of an entirely new era for enterprise software. Just as SaaS once revolutionized how businesses consume technology, we’re now entering the age of agentic AI — with autonomous, goal-oriented AI agents that take initiative, chain tasks together, and, that will be able to adapt on the fly. These agents are not just an incremental improvement; they mark a fundamental shift towards a world where intelligent software can replace entire teams performing repetitive “butter-boring” jobs, freeing everyone up for more strategic, meaningful work.

As I discussed in my piece “The Sunrise of AI Agents” this shift isn’t only about efficiency; it’s about fundamentally reimagining how we interact with technology. Thought leaders like Marc Benioff, writing in TIME, have described how AI agents can pave the way to a new “Agentic Era,” expanding our capacity to scale and innovate. Bernard Marr’s Forbes exploration of “agentic AI” similarly highlights that we’re not just improving tools — we’re enabling autonomous, adaptable digital workers who can tackle complexity in ways we never imagined.

From SaaS to Agentic AI: The Logical Evolution
We’ve progressed from desktop software to SaaS. Today, I’m seeing and building vertical AI agents specialized in handling entire workflows. And tomorrow, we’re spearheaded, full speed, towards agentic AI. What’s the beauty of this new realm? These agents aren’t just reactive; they plan, reason, and will learn. And this move, beyond static instructions is the crux of it all: it is what will make these systems become agile digital-co-workers unlocking businesses to provide internal and external user experiences not even possible to dream before.

This leap is powered by large-language-models and orchestration technologies. I’ve been fortunate to be hands-on with these and taking advantage of them into our Agentforce Authoring Platform at Salesforce. It’s extremely exciting to progressively be proving that orchestration, multilingual capabilities, and improving logic, can make AI Agents run smoothly at scale.

Unleashing Business Efficiency and Specialization
Agentic AI offers a practical solution to decades-old challenges. Imagine AI agents autonomously handling your financial reconciliations, government contract bids, or inventory forecasting without human intervention. These repetitive tasks — the “boring butter passing” ones — once demanded whole teams or multiple teams perhaps or at times scattered all over the place. Now, have agents tackle it. Let agents work around the clock and react to market changes instantly.

This isn’t theoretical. I’m seeing ~50% week-over-week growth in custom action usage and ~35% increase in system action calls on Agentforce. Also, what’s going to be interesting to see is this: smaller companies may now be able to play at the same level as large enterprises, building AI solutions that scale, specialize, and deliver efficiency gains previously out of reach.

Technical Foundations: Autonomy, Chaining, and Multi-Agent Workflows
Agentic AI is awesome because it can break down requests into sub-tasks, chaining them together logically. Think of an AI agent as a skilled and willing “digital intern” who follows instructions, adapts, negotiates among different goals, and adjusts when new data comes into play.

Under the hood, a secret sauce is building technology that allows flexible planning, a platform in constant revolution and optimization gearing towards adding graph-based orchestrations into the mix, and, harnessing data models built from the begining to support the avalanche of upcoming multi-agent scenarios.

With Agentforce Authoring, a low-code environment, anyone can define agents and their roles, topics, actions, and guardrails while taking advantage of prepackaged templates or skills, or, by simply starting custom, from the ground up. These agents can run on many surfaces — web, mobile, Slack, WhatsApp, or trigger actions proactively via APIs. The power that perhaps once resided in specialized teams is now accessible to a broader audience of business users enthusiasts, product managers, solution engineers, more devs and innovators!

Beyond Language Barriers: Building and Tuning in Your Own Tongue
Not only can these agents respond in multiple languages; they can soon be built, configured, and “whispered to” directly in the builder’s native language. Imagine defining the business problem you want to solve, the instructions you need to give, or the tasks you want automate — all in your mother tongue. These localized instructions and tuning represent a massive unlock.

There’s no better way to articulate your goals, constraints, or insights than using the linguistic and cultural nuances you know best. This capability is on the horizon and I’m almost grabbing it. It’s truly exhilarating — it’s the kind of development that keeps me up at night, envisioning how it will empower global teams to innovate without linguistic friction. The sole purpose why I do language-ai.

Real-World Use Cases Across Industries
Agentic AI isn’t a lab experiment. It’s already reshaping multiple sectors:

  • Finance: Agents unify data, ensure lending compliance, and automate processes like payments and insurance updates, cutting handle times and delivering exceptional borrower experiences.
  • Catering: Agents unify data, automate complex orders, handle dietary needs, and ensure timely deliveries, simplifying workplace meal management.
  • Luxury: Agents streamline routine inquiries, unify data, and leverage AI for hyper-personalization, empowering service teams to deliver high-touch experiences and foster deeper customer loyalty.
  • Hospitality: Agents integrate data, automate routine tasks, and enhance self-service, giving staff more time to focus on meaningful customer interactions and deliver superior dining experiences.
  • Education: Agents unify data, automate routine tasks, and streamline self-service, boosting agent efficiency and delivering ~200% ROI.
  • Technology: Agents unify data, deliver instant expertise, and reduce human escalations by ~50%, resolving ~80% of help requests without waiting.

I’ve been personally guiding clients in adopting these solutions in such sectors but also in other industries like transportantion, insurance or banking and more. Directly or through customer programs, community training, or ecosystem events — it’s astonishing to witness how agentic AI unleashes new market possibilities and operational excellence.

Empowering a New Generation of Builders and Global Teams
My passion lies in democratizing AI so diverse global teams can craft sophisticated AI agents using their native languages and cultural frames of reference. I’ve been preaching benefits of Conversational Interfaces and AI for a bit. And it all comes together nicely with Agentforce, where building AI agents no longer demands a specialized ML background. Instead, mere mortals like me, product managers, architects, or solution engineers and anyone around the world can define agents in words, not code, and soon, in their local languages.

This is about unlocking human potential. When professionals can instruct AI in their own tongue, they remove a core barrier to creativity, nuance, and clarity. As PM Lead for Agentforce Authoring, I’m obsessed by this — building these tools with the goal to spark innovation in regions previously underserved by complex AI platforms.

Addressing Trust, Ethics, and Governance
As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. Agentic AI must operate ethically, handle personal data securely, and navigate cultural sensitivities. To tackle this problem, on the Agentforce Authoring front — we’ve introduced Testing Center. The system allows to implement guardrails easily and we’re engaged in ongoing collaboration with research teams to ensure transparency and fairness is baked in.

We’re continually running multilingual evals, adjusting feedback loops, and aligning with diverse regulations. In my opinion, the aim isn’t just economic efficiency, but AI that respects human values, fosters trust, and drives sustainable progress.

Humans + AI: A Holistic Future
This is important to say and write. Agentic AI doesn’t eliminate humans; it augments them. By offloading repetitive, admin-heavy tasks, agents empower employees to focus on strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and building genuine customer relationships. Humans and AI working together yield outcomes neither could achieve alone. That’s the key.

Scaling to a Global Movement
From Dreamforce keynotes to upcoming TDX sessions, and from local community gatherings to online AMAs, enthusiasm for agentic AI is global. The Trailblazer and Agentblazer communities share best practices and inspire each other. It’s not a niche phenomenon — it’s a worldwide movement that grows with every new builder, every new language, and every new idea.
